Some of you might not know that some N-Gage compatible Nokia phones do not support landscape mode on N-Gage games. Just like mine Nokia N82. I think the reason behind this is phones like N82 doesn't have the A and B keys above. So it will be hard to play the N-Gage games in landscape view. The will be the acceptable point for Nokia to take away this options. However, I don't agree they took away the landscape of particular phones. Most games are best viewed in landscape, but part of the N-Gage games are still controllable even without the A B keys above the screen in this view. Which I think Nokia made not a good decision.
Anyway, I got a file from symbian-freak which able us to mod the N-Gage to enable the landscape option for phone like Nokia N82. Here are the tools you need:
open file explorer, find C:\Private\10202be9\persists\20001079.cre and delete it.
now replace 20001079.txt on C:\Private\10202be9\20001079.txt
Note 1: Don't forget to backup your own 20001079.cre Note 2: I failed to mod mine N-Gage at the first time. But I successfully modded on the second try after I formated my Nokia N82 for some reasons.

Overall, I think the camera standard is pretty much like the other Nokia 5MP phones. The video is still as stunning as the less of the Nokia phones did either, just the video zooming isn't fluid enough. So, no massive breakthrough from the N97 camera but the Nokia 5MP camera standard is still there.
The guys at the Nokia Flagship Store in NYC have unboxed and preview a retail N97. Nokia N97 is the new S60 5th Edition. Other features include 3.5-inch 640x360 pixels display, 5MP camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, and 3.5mm jack.
The Nokia N86 8MP, the winner of the TIPA Award for the Best Mobile Imaging Device in 2009 is now shipping globally. However, the device isn't listed on the Nokia website yet. So there is no official price tag yet.
The device features variable aperture, which results in vibrant photos even in challenging bright and low-light conditions. The fast mechanical shutter and Automatic Motion Blur Reduction ensure shorter latencies and less motion blur. Processing times between pictures have been more than halved in comparison with many other camera phones.
Uploading pictures and videos on social networking sites like Ovi Share and Flickr is fast and simple with high-speed connectivity of the Nokia N86 8MP. 8GB of internal memory provides enough space for up to 4000 photos and the memory can be increased even further with an exchangeable 16GB microSD card.

Accelerometer: Use accelerometer sensor to play and to set settings: "Twist" your phone left and right and press a key (or touch screen) to launch the bubble.
Dynamic volume and balance: Change music behaviour according to phone position. There is 2 options:
Volume: The more you rotate your phone, the more volume will be less.
Balance: Stereo balance change according to phone positions (better with earphone ).
You can set you own music by putting a file called fbtwisted.mp3 in c:\Data\Others
BackLight: Dynamically change backlight intensitivity according to numbers of bubbles explosed.
Vibration: The more you explosed bubbles, the more vibration duration will be high. You have to enable vibration on your phone settings and unplug usb cable to get this option working.
Touch Screen: This version is partially ported to S60 5th edition platform, with touch screen and high resolution. To simulate OK key, touch the game screen. To simulate Up and Down keys, touch the arrows. To simulate left and right menu softkeys, touch the pinguins.
A version fully compatible with touch screen and with a whole new design is at work.
You're not a S60 phone user if didn't play S60 Frozen Bubble before. Frozen Bubble is a S60 game which you can't miss, especially the new S60 phone owners. Although, Frozen Bubble's graphic isn't as high as other S60 3D games we can find nowadays like the n-gage games and others. It is a very addictive classic S60 game. Thanks to Elias Konstantinidi who ported this game to S60 3rd platform.
As you probably already know Frozen Bubble is a popular free puzzle game (especially in Linux platform). User controls a small canon, shooting bubbles and tries to hit other bubbles so to create groups of 3 or more bubbles of the same color. Whenever this is accomplished these bubbles go away. The purpose of the game is to eliminate all bubbles from stage.
Bluetooth Terror has begun! BT Terror is an application that keeps trying to send the selected file after both devices connected with Bluetooth. BT Terror will record down how many times the victim has accepted or rejected the selected sending file. The victim won't be have chance to turn off his Bluetooth once his device is being terrorizing. Try make a little fun of your friends. Choose the recipient in the New Devices. You can save the device to list. If the device already saved, no need to find new devices, just select Saved Devices
Information about recipient will be on screen, press start
On the 1st request for sending data from the recipient, you can see the text with information on the number of times the recipient clicked yes and no on file reception.

This is the Nokia N86 8MP flash for time screensaver. You will love this cool screensaver if you are a fan of fancy and animated stuffs. I got this from symbian-guru. So you can download the file here(right-click and save). You will notice there is a battery notification above the time, if you left click the file on the computer. Somehow, the flash doesn't show the bettery notication on my Nokia N82. Anyway, it is still a sweet screensaver even without it.
To set it up as screensaver, simply put it on your device(anywhere you like). I put mine in memory card/other. Now follow the steps below to make the screensaver work properly written by then82blog.
1. Go to Themes > Power Saver 2. Select Animation (make sure a check mark appears next to it) then hit Options > Settings 3. Select Animation File, then browse that gif or swf file you wanted to set as screensaver. 4. On Animation Time-out, indicate how long you want your screensaver to stay visible on display. 5. On Light Time-out set it to off, or to a value that is longer than the Animation Time-out. 6. Go to Display Settings. 7. On Power Saver time-out, set the number of seconds for how long you want the phone to wait before displaying the screensaver.
Important: 8. Still on the Display Settings, select Light Time-out, then set it to a value that is longer than (the value you set on [step 4] plus the value you set on [step 7])
That’s it. Step 8 is important so that backlight is available until the screensaver is finished doing its job. You won’t like the light off already when the screensaver have not started yet or while the screensaver is playing.
Tip: On [step 4], the maximum possible input is 60secs for animation time-out. If you want your screensaver to be displayed the longest time possible, I suggest setting it to a value that is just equal to (60secs minus the value you set on power saver time out [step 7]) and then on [step 8], set the light time out to 60secs. That way, the screensaver stops playing as soon as the light times out. Saves some battery.
How about trying a classy theme, Armani V2 & Armani Black by babinokia. There are two versions each for Armani V2 & Armani Black available, which is with and without Emporio Armani logo. I like the Armani Black without Emporio Armani logo. The theme is nice on my Nokia N82 black. It makes the phone looks more classy no matter in day or night.

As a user experience designer I like to take every opportunity to better understand the issues that get in the way of people making the most of their mobile phones. The development of Google Mobile App for Nokia S60 smartphones, which launched today, has provided an opportunity to address three aspects of an issue we hear about on a regular basis: immediacy.
1. Immediacy of access
We know from our users that navigating through menus introduces an unwanted delay. Our quick key mechanism launches the application directly from the home screen, making search, Google Maps, Gmail, and other Google mobile services available immediately.

2. Immediacy of location
Google Mobile App for Nokia Series 60 smartphones comes with location awareness built in. If you use the My Location feature, you'll get local search results that relate to where you are. You can opt in or out of this at any time, via the Settings menu.

3. Immediacy of query formulation
We have adopted a dual approach to help make query formulation quick and efficient. First, your search history is readily available so that it's easy to repeat queries. Second, we offer query suggestions based on what has been entered so far to get you to your results as quickly as possible.

Additionally, we like to work with feedback about earlier versions of our products, such as the quick key launch feature. We found that some users didn't need a home screen reminder, while others liked having it there. So in Google Mobile App, we added an item in Settings to let people choose what best suits them.

This is a very cool python application where a ball moving 1D, 2D or 3D inside your Symbian phone. Almost everything are customizable, such as 1D, 2D and 3D and even the effective rate of the ball rebound!
The AccelBall 3D author claims that it only works on N93/N95/N95 8GB. I've installed AccelBall on my N82. It works fine but just a tiny sign of lagging and no vibration feedback. Might be the problem of MISO. Overall, it is a very cool application. Kudos to MitchS60!

Fancy of the iPhone sms style which has text conversation history viewing? junnikokuki got the idea by introducing Free-iSMS for Symbian S60 users. I've been using this application for a few weeks and found that it works with me perfectly. It shows the sender's name and contact number when the decive received new sms which is missing in Symbian OS. The user interface isn't running as fluid as the iPhone, there is no fluid but it fine for me. The conversation bubbles can be easily differentiated to read, short-cut key added, bonus features, etc. The only point I found hard to read the text is when scrolling down to read a long text message. You might miss where you just read it after scrolled down.
