Finally, the 1.6 liter version of the Proton Saga is officially on sale in Malaysia and it is limited only available in Chilli Red colour. The car is priced at RM 39,000.00 with front power windows, but with steel wheels and without air bags. I think this car has no ABS also. The lack of safety features are the big drawback of the New Saga with 5-speed manual gearbox 1.6 liter Campro IAFM engine. Imagine driving this car which equivalent to 3 stars crash test rating at the speed of 180km/h with no ABS/EBD and air bags.
Proton provides Saga 1.6 to Avenue Drive (M) Sdn Bhd, KCM Fleet Sdn Bhd, Perniagaan Lima Sejati Sdn Bhd and Public Cab Sdn Bhd as New Proton Saga Taxi last year. (Hey, it's chilli red also! Are you thinking what I'm thinking?) Hope there will be no one waving at you for cab when driving the limited chilli red 1.6 New Saga. LOL. By the way, the Proton Saga 1.6 will make Australia debut in early 2010.
